I REALLY like this site for crowdsourcing. It started in 2008 and has become one of the most popular. This means that many people already know and gravitate to it when looking to donate. It is simple, quick and easy to start up and takes out the 'middle' man that some of the others have brokering deals. The person, or in this case, school, student, teacher, or parents, can ask for an amount to be meant and give a story as to why they are looking to get there. We, actually, used this to help a girl from my high school who had become very ill with cancer. The community set it up and, along with fund raising at local shops, every one use social media to market our campaign on here. We ended up covering a good portion of her medical bills! They key to this, as the site suggests, is marketing, marketing MARKETING! I think this would be a great tool for specific financial needs!
